Bettify Football Data

Bettify provides football data which are not usually found on net. Apart from common stuff like league tables, head to head stats and results in main European football leagues, here at bettify.com you can find percentage estimations for correct score, over/under and 1x2 betting.

These estimations are based on Bivariate Poisson distribution, and if you’re interested to read more about it, just search on google for it and you will find loads of scientific publications about usage of statistical models in football betting.

How to use these data? Well, first use them with caution. There’s no proven right way in betting, so when you put your own money on some football match, be prepared to lose it – if you can’t afford to lose, than don’t bet. Simple as that.

If you’re backing any team in a football match, you should know as many facts about that match as you can find. Team news, motivation, weather conditions, distance between host and guest, etc are only some of the factors that influence outcome of football match, and these data can be found on the internet, with more or less accuracy. But problem is how to turn the facts you know into numbers? To put it simple, it is not possible to measure influence of Wayne Rooney on Manchester United’s chances in particular football match – at least I don’t know how to do that.

But what we can convert into chances or odds are numbers we have – previous results of teams involved. And as already mentioned, smart people who know their stuff proved it can be done using some statistical models.

Here at bettify, Bivariate Poisson distribution is used to calculate chances of every possible score, and from those chances are calculated 1x2 (home win, draw, away win) odds and Over/Under 2.5 (three or more goals or less than three goals) odds. And basically in order to find good bet, you are looking for the outcome which has bigger chances than bookmakers odds suggest.

Unfortunately, it is not just process of simply comparing Poisson odds on bettify and bookmakers’ odds and collecting money at bookmaker, but that is the main idea. You will have to find the right way of doing it for yourself.
