Arsenal Wenger will look to leave disappointing defeat to Bournemouth behind when they host local rivals Crystal Palace today at the Emirates. Arsenal were in the headlines in last couple of days, but mostly in transfer gossip. Their league form in is not that interesting, as they only managed to beat Crystal Palace in reverse fixture and Newcastle during December and January.
Wenger will probably start this match without Sanchez, but probably more important is that he will have Koscielny and Monreal back for the first time in 2018. We can expect Lacazette and Wellbeck to lead the line, with Wilshere and Ozil behind them.
Palace are doing fine under Roy Hodgson, and were beaten only by Arsenal in last couple of months. Defeat to Arsenal in December was followed by credible draw against Manchester City, and they won their last two league games, against Southampton and Burnley.
Hodgson will be without Loftus-Cheek, Scott Dann and Mamdou Sakho, and probably Andros Townsend.
Crystal Palace definitely won’t be easy opponent for the Gunners, but Arsenal should still have enough to win this match. Crystal Palace are in decent form, but their home record is traditionally poor, and they have quite poor record against Arsenal, losing 8 out of last 10 league meetings.
